Single column with three-column infobox footer

This is a single-column blog template that I'm experimenting with. It's a handy thing to have as it makes a good starting point for other more layouts. It's probably most appropriate in blogs where you don't have a lot of sidebar info. For best results, the infobox column contents should be set so that they're more or less uniform in length. (I call it the infobox for lack of a better term -- it's not a sidebar, after all, and not properly a footer.)

I'll use this as the basis for some Javascript-tricked layouts later on.

Some additional notes about this design:

  • Width of the blog content area is 560px. Same size for the header, footer, and infobox. This should work well with a 468-px Adsense banner.
  • I didn't go for a wider width because the long text runs per line become harder to read.
  • The widths of the columns in the infobox are 180px.

Hi Dominique, thank you so much, I've been looking for this for a very long time!

I only have two problems customising it. It's perfect the way you designed it, but I'd like it to have:

    1) the post body being just 410 px, with more line height (I'd like it to have the same CSS of the blogger minima template). Header and footer are ok being 560px, only the post body I need to be 410, centered

    2) when I put an image as header, I'd like it to be at the center, not at the left.

I'm sorry, I know this sounds dumb and it should be a joke for me, but I'm struggling with it.

    Can you help me please?
